Silly Fog: How to Prevent Cloud Hype from Damaging Your SaaS Sales and Marketing Programs

October 29th, 2009; Time: 12:00PM to 1:00PM, EDT/EST

Presenters: Softletter Vice President of Research Randy Hujar and Managing Editor Rick Chapman

Over the last several months as Cloud hype has reached unprecedented heights, many companies and conferences have begun to confuse SaaS and the Cloud.  The result is growing confusion as potental SaaS customers begin to wonder what the "Cloud" is, the nature of its relationship with SaaS, and whether a SaaS product must be "Cloudy." And a confused customer is a non buying customer!

This session will examine current trends in SaaS infrastructure, analyze the relationship between the Cloud, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and SaaS. Effective ways to discuss the Cloud and SaaS so as to not confuse customers and freeze wallets will be discussed and analyzed. Selected highlights from Softletter's 2009 SaaS Report will help attendees understand current Cloud and platform trends and optimize their sales and marketing operations so as to preserve sales growth and avoid market uncertainty. Best (and worst) examples of how to use interest in the Cloud to help drive sales will be examined and dissected for their potental impact on your business.

If you want to understand how to use the Cloud to drive sales and not get rained on, this session is a must attend.
